Jascha Heifetz: There is No Top

A Limited Edition Print by Alexander D. Hettinga

Heifetz1

The legendary violinist Jascha Heifetz perhaps gained the highest ground any violinist had ever reached, but he pressed on through his whole life to go further. Heifetz's unwavering figure and modeling of perfect form is one of the great inspirational images of music to aspiring generations.

In this drawing, Alex combines his love for music and art, as well as his fascination with the form of the violin. He considers Jascha Heifetz his all-time favorite violinist and one of his musical heroes. Heifetz's fabulous playing inspires Alex in his music and art, and this drawing is a tribute to the inspiration he has brought to countless musicians.

The Heifetz quote, "There is no top. There are always further heights to reach." was generously hand-lettered for this print by artist and calligrapher, Jody F. Sjogren. Much thanks to Mrs. Sjogren for her help and advice in the process of taking this drawing to print.
