This drawing was completed last year, and for me signified a great accomplishment. Although I have improved much since then, the experience of taking a piece of paper that huge and covering it from edge to edge in color to create an animal with life in its eyes, is so exciting. Capturing the life and mood or personality of an animal or person in the eyes is one of my favorite things about drawing.

Most of the lion itself is drawn from a photo, but his green lair is my own design.
